Equation-Based Modeling with COMSOL
Advanced simulation professionals often seek to delve deeper into what makes a particular model work on a theoretical, or equation-based, level. Because COMSOL Multiphysics offers direct access to mathematical models utilized in its interfaces, it has become the preferred tool among this class of users. Moreover, those that would like to customize their own theoretical model can do so in COMSOL with unparalleled ease.
Presentation and Live demo
The first half of the workshop provides an overview of the possibilities for equation-based modeling, and related news in COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4.2 and LiveLink for MATLAB. We will present and show how to include custom partial- and ordinary differential equations using the predefined interfaces and the weak formulation.
The second half of the workshop is a hands-on tutorial in COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4.2. It is directed at both new users and existing users who would like experience with the new interface.
We will set up and solve a simple multiphysics problem designed to make participants quickly proficient in COMSOL Multiphysics Version
4.2 - enabling the participants to use the included 2-week free trial on their own models.

The workshop is free of charge and the coffee and cake is provided by COMSOL!
To participate in the hands-on session, attendees will need to bring their own laptop. If you do not have a laptop, we will try to pair you up with another attendee. Please confirm whether you will or will not bring a laptop with you.
