Smart Grid Workshop
It is a Danish Government goal to move towards an electric power system that depends solely on renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy. This transition requires that new methods of power balancing throughout all levels of the electrical grid. This is the motivation for the Smart-Grid concept, where producers and consumers are tighter integrated with Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The Smart-Grid can be thought of as “Internet for energy”: a collection of advanced information, control, and communication technologies that enable the electric power system to handle large amounts of renewables.
The Danish Smart-Grid vision has initiated a large range of research in both industry and academia. At Aalborg University, research projects are currently taking place in the fields of
Power Electronic Systems,
Development and Planning and
These on-going Smart-Grid research projects are shaping our future electric power system. This one-day workshop will include Smart-Grid presentations from all of these areas of research at Aalborg University along with presentations from industry Smart-Grid partners: DONG Energy, Grundfos, Kamstrup and Neogrid.
We are looking forward to welcome you at Aalborg University!
