Thürmer & Co was established in Copenhagen in 1898 based on Patent no. 908 for the invention of the square cutting die. Then for 116 years not much happened. Until 2014, when Thürmer took out a new patent directed at thread cutting taps having new features and new functionality, which is only obtainable with a 3D metal printer.
